Happy Halloween!

And as a Treat, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite things Walt Disney ever did...

More Than A Great Movie

For my money, this is the best sports movie since 'Remember the Titans'. One thing I really liked about this movie is the fact that it's not LEBRON: THE MOVIE. This movie follows his whole team. You don't just get LeBron. You get Coach Dru, Little Dru, Sian, Willie, Romeo... and you feel just as connected to them as you do LeBron. You follow them from when they started playing together as kids through their trip to the AAU National Championships when they were in 8th grade all the way through their senior year of high school. I was really surprised by how much of their young basketball careers is documented on film and how much footage actually exists. Their highschool basketball team may have been a well-oiled machine but the had so many other issues to deal with off the court. From their own egos, to playing with new teammates, to eventually having to deal with LeBron's fame. It was no easy road. One last thing I have to comment on this movie is the music. The music in this is easily what takes it from good to great and it gave me goosebumps. Take note of it. I really, really loved this movie.

Grim Grinning Ghosts

With Halloween days away, I was going through some halloween-y type things and came across this. This about the scariest thing I had seen in my entire life until I was about 7. Grin Grinning Ghosts from the Disneyland Fun Sing-A-Long video tape.

Where The Indie Hipsters Were - Last Night

Went to the 12:01am screening of Where the Wild Things Are, last night. I really enjoyed it. It is a lot different than almost any "kids" movie I've ever seen. This movie doesn't aim for happy. It was unique and definitely a pleasure for your eyes.

Sidebar: I could not believe the amount of hipsters at this screening. Never have I seen so many flannel shirts, beanies, and beards all in one place. I should have worn a v-neck. I felt so left out of their club.

A Day in the City

Spider-Lizard?

It looks like one of Spider-Man's arch-nemesis...s[?] has had a change of heart. The Lizard is now donning the web-head's colors! This is actually a real lizard. This is a Mwanza flat-headed Agama. Apparently petshops can't keep enough of them around. And I can see why. I've never been a lizard fan, and I still couldn't own this one. But there is something less menacing about this guy's red and blue coloring. He looks friendlier... neighborhoodier... Spider-Manier.

New 'Up In The Air' Trailer

With three months left in the year 2009, Mr. George Clooney still has three movies to be released. All of which, I am anxiously looking forward to but this one is atop of that list. Can't wait - Looks great.

Fame Killed?

The "Fame Kills" tour featuring Kanye West and Lady Gaga looks to be officially cancelled according to MTV.com. No reason for the cancellation has been announced. I'm just really disappointed. I was really looking forward to checking it out on it's stop at Arco Arena on November 18th.

Kanye's "Glow in the Dark" tour blew my socks off when I saw it last April and I was looking forward to seeing what these two crazies were cooking up together. Looks like we'll never know...

The Twilight Vampire Slayers?

I love Olivia Munn.
